The coaxial cable has inner and outer conductors which are separated by a spiral of solid dielectric material. The spiral extends through the annular space between the inner and outer conductors. The spiral is wound around the inner conductor. The inner edge of the spiral engages in the inner conductor, and the outer edge of the spiral engages in the outer conductor. The outer edge of the spiral forms a number of grooves along the length of the spiral. The body of the spiral is hollow.
