Orthodontic apparatus for ventral or dorsal displacement of lower jaw and/or upper jaw

The orthodontic apparatus has a bending spring (1) which acts as the force producing element. At both ends of the spring (2,3) are holes (4,5) which are used to fix to a holder (9,10,12) fixed to the upper jaw and a holder (11,13) fixed to the lower jaw. The bending spring is a wire made from an alloy which has the characteristic of memory of its original shape. It is built into the apparatus such that when the mouth is only slightly open, or is closed, then the spring is in a pseudoelastic condition. The holes can be lugs which are built through the curve at the end of the spring.
