Process for cleaning soil from crystalline or amorphous pollutants

In a process to clean soil (6) contaminated with crystalline or amorphous pollutants (5), the novelty is that the contaminated soil (6) is brought into contact with a liq. sepn. agent (10) whose density is higher than that of the pollutant (5), onto which it is washed. Also claimed is apparatus in which the contaminated soil (6) is lifted by conveyor to a receiving station (1,1',1",1"') to a washing station (2,2',2".2'") where a tank (8,8',8",8"') holds a quantity of a liq. sepn. agent (10), and where the soil is fractionated by density variation and subsequently conveyed to the output (3,3',3",3"').
