Fast-acting lacquer-, paint- and adhesive-stripping gel

Gel for loosening lacquer, paint and adhesives based on organic solvent with added wetting agent, thickener and other usual additives, contains 30-70 wt.% 1,3-dioxolane, methyl tert.-butyl ether (MTBE) and/or THF, 8-25 wt.% 1-6 C-alkyl acetate and 8-30 wt.% DMSO. Pref. the gel contains 40-65 wt.% 1,3-dioxolane, MTBE and/or THF, esp. a mixt. of 1,3-dioxolane with THF or MTBE, 10-25 wt.% alkyl acetate, esp. butyl acetate, and 10-30 wt.% DMSO. It may also contain 5-25 wt.% 3-7 C ketone, esp. acetone; paraffin wax to inhibit evapn.; 1-5 wt.% citric acid; 0.5-5 wt.% sulphosuccinate as wetting agent; and 0.5-4 wt.% cellulose deriv. as thickener.
