Devices in a building are connected to control units (C11, C12, C13, C14, C21, C22, C23, C24, C25, C31, C32, C34, C35) and centrally controlled by a building computer (40). Each control unit includes a transceiver (T11, T12, T13, T14, T21, T22, T23, T24, T25, T26, T31, T32, T34, T35, T41) which can communicate to at least one neighbouring transceiver, thereby forming a distributed communication network extending back to the building computer.
