[Also in Divisions E2 and G2] A filter bag (25) is secured in a housing (20) with its inlet in alignment with the inlet duct 18 of the housing by two parallel slides (132), 133 attached to the housing top 121 and two members, 103 attached to the bag (25), slides (132) 133 and members 103 having respective cams 135, 107 and ramps 134, 106, which permit the bag to be slid almost into place (Fig. 4) and then engage whereby members 103 are lifted and compress synthetic foam gasket 102 to make a seal between bag (25) and housing top 121 (Fig. 5, not shown). In Figs. 1-8 the gasket 102 is cemented to a flange 101 whose upturned sides form members 103, flange 101 being stapled to respective inner and outer gaskets (72), 73 around the aperture of bag (25). Bag 25 comprises an inner layer (28) of progressively increasing density and an outer layer (30) of uniform density, each made from a rectangular block (Fig. 8) by glueing, stitching or stapling. Both layers are felted glass fibre. In Figs. 9-13 (not shown), the foam gasket (175) is secured to the housing top and flanges (154-156) secured round the inlet of filter bag (150) are releasably engaged in a four-sided frame (162) which carries members (160, 161) engaging slides (132), 133 as in Figs. 1-8. The housing (20) has a removable panel (126) for disposal of the used filter bag, and a plurality of centrifugal extractor fans (19). A bracket (129) on panel (126) engages the ends of members 103 or (160, 161) to hold them fully inserted (Figs. 2, 5). The arrangement (19, 20, 25) forms an extraction system (Fig. 1) whereby residual particles of toner resin, brushed from a drum-like xerographic plate (10) and then flicked by bar (15) from the brush are collected in disposable bag (25). |
