A foot valve for a double-tube hydraulic damper (Fig. 1, not shown) has a valve body 18 providing an annular seating on which are assembled in turn a centrally apertured metal diaphragm 14, an eccentrically apertured plate 15 and a spring 16. The valve is two-way, the flow paths through it being C C and C E . The single diaphragm 14 shown may be replaced by a stack of such diaphragms, and the spring 16 may be a lamina of the form shown or a wire spring. The spring may be retained by a circlip 17 or by turning in the top edge of the valve body.</p> |
