Communication facilities for heterogeneous distributed computing

摘要

The sending of code, data and processes (threads) uniformly across a network of heterogeneous machines is accomplished by defining lightweight communications abstraction for higher-order objects, such as first-class procedures and continuations. The abstractions facilitate the construction of shared memory and message passing systems.
