PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently suppress elimination and moving reaction of an alkyl group at a low pressure and aminate a low-boiling point alcohol by using a catalyst into which high boiling point liquid is impregnated. SOLUTION: When (A) an alcohol (preferably a primary alcohol and/or a secondary alcohol) is reacted with (B) an amine (preferably a primary amine and/or a secondary amine) in a vapor phase to aminate the alcohol, the reaction is carried out in a boiling point of a solvent or below in the presence of a catalyst (preferably a hydrogenation catalyst, e.g. containing an element such as Ni, Co or Cu). Furthermore, the reaction is carried out, preferably in the presence of hydrogen. Furthermore, a solvent in the component C is preferably a liquid having a boiling point of the reaction temperature or above. Example, a catalyst obtained by making Cu and alumina supported with a silica support is immersed into a polyethylene glycol and diethylene glycol is reacted with dimethylamine to provide dimethylaminoethoxyethanol. |
