PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell with solid highpolymer electrolyte, which can reduce the stress value applied to an electrolytic film of solid highpolymer electrolytic material even in a position pressurized through a holding member. SOLUTION: Each unit cell 1 of a fuel cell with a solid highpolymer electrolyte uses a separator 2 which is equipped with a flat plate 21 as a stress relieving structure at the top of a holding member 744, etc., different from conventional arrangement. The flat plate 21 is fabricated from a stainless steel plate, etc., of the same sort as the holding member 744 and secured to the top of the holding member 744, etc., by means of welding or the like. The height of that part with holding member 744 of separator 2 including flat plate 21 is set to T14 B which is the same as that of the separator according to the conventional arrangement. |
