摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a nonoriented or double oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties and punching properties. SOLUTION: This silicon steel sheet is the one contg., by weight, 0.2 to 6.5% Si and 0.03 to 2.5% Mn, having a texture in which the density of the 100} plane in a direction parallel to the sheet face is regulated to >=10 times the density of that having no orientation properties, having a demanganese layer in which the concn. of Mn reduces toward the surface of the sheet thickness, and in which the ratio of the Mn concn. in the surface part to the Mn concn. in the center part of the sheet thickness is regulated to <=0.90 and the maximum value of the reducing ratio of the Mn concn. in the demanganese layer is regulated to >=0.05wt.%/&mu;m. Furthermore, the average diameter of the crystalline grains is preferably regulated to 0.25 to 10 times the sheet thickness. Moreover, the sheet face is preferably applied with tension within the elastic limit in a direction parallel to the sheet face. By specifying the Mn concn. reducing ratio, high magnetic flux density can be obtd., and the one free from the abnormality of the rising of magnetization and having low iron loss can be obtd.
