PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly input a rule by automatically switching a document editing mode to a graphic input mode through the input of the rule designated in the document editing mode and then resetting this editing mode after the input of the rule is over when the rules are inputted in the document editing mode. SOLUTION: The control program of a document processing device is stored in a ROM 2, an FD(floppy disk) 10, an HD(hard disk) 11 or a RAM 3. The desired processing is carried out based on the control program that is read out by a CPU 1 via a system bus 14. Then both character and graphic modes are prepared, and the editing of a desired rule is instructed during the editing of the character mode. When it is decided that the desired rule cannot be edited in a character mode, the character mode is switched to a graphic mode. Then the character mode is reset after the editing of the rule is finished in the graphic mode. When the character mode is switched to the graphic mode, the attribute of the graphic that is edited in the immediately preceding graphic mode is saved and the attribute of the rule to be edited is set. |
