PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a basic refractory comprising a magnesia excellent in corrosion resistance as a main component, suppressing slag infiltration, excellent in spalling resistance without reducing corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This basic refractory is constituted of at least a magnesia raw material, a magnesia-calcia raw material, a titania raw material and/or a calcia raw material, comprises 70-98wt.% of MgO, 0.4-20wt.% of TiO2 , 0.2-10wt.% of CaO and <=10wt.% of other components, has the ratio of TiO2 /CaO of >=0.8 by weight and contains CaO.TiO2 crystal at least in the refractory texture. |
