摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a shift shock with the amount of intake air controlled in order to temporarily reduce the output torque of an engine while up-shift gear shifting is being actuated in the vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: Other than a normal throttle valve 15, an electronic control throttle 17 which shall be called a second throttle, is provided for an engine 1 at the downstream side of the aforesaid normal throttle valve, and a reduction in engine torque can thereby be realized by controlling the electronic control throttle by an engine control computer 3. The engine control computer 3 operates the throttle control signal of the electronic control throttle 17 based on signals from a throttle opening sensor 18 detecting the opening of the throttle valve 15, an engine revolution sensor 19 and a vehicle speed sensor, and thereby determines the opening of the electronic control throttle 17. When a reduction target value can not be accomplished only by the opening adjustment of the electronic control throttle 17, control for ignition timing or control for the amount of fuel injection is additionally executed.
