PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side panel display on an active liquid crystal display panel of wide aspect without the time base processing of a video signal. SOLUTION: A signal line driving IC consists of a shift register 3, which takes the timing data signal of a data signal for video signal or a data signal for side panel as the input and transfers this input signal by the use of an image clock signal, and line sequence conversion means 4a, 4b, and 5 which sample the video signal or the side panel. At the time of projection of the video signal of 4:3 aspect ratio, the signal line driving circuit in the center part takes in the video signal in parallel with taking of the side panel signal into signal line driving circuits on both sides, thereby taking in all signals in the effective scanning period to realize the side panel display. |
