Novel crosslinked resins comprising at least one substituted aryl group having a functional substituent group of the general formula <IMAGE> (I) can be prepared via the addition reaction of a crosslinked resin comprising at least one substituted aryl group having a functional substituent group of general formula <IMAGE> (II) and an ester of an alkenesulfonic acid of general formula C(H)(R1)=C(H)-SO3R3(III), wherein, a is 0 or 1, b is 1 or 2, d is 1 or 2, e is 0 or 1, R1 represents H or a C1-C4 alkyl group, R2 is a -CN or a carboxyester group, R3 is a hydrocarbyl group, M is a proton or another cation, and moreover that in general formula (I) b+d+e=3, and in general formula (II) that b+e=2 and b is 2 each R2 is a -CN or a carboxyester group, followed by hydrolysis of the addition product into a functional group of general formula (I). Said resins are extremely stable at elevated temperatures in water or aqueous media and show a high catalytic activity. |
