PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent waste paper from hanging onto the upper end of an extrusion screw for carrying out compression molding of waste paper. SOLUTION: In this treating apparatus of waste paper rotatably providing an extrusion screw 5 in a state fixed on a rotating shaft 3 in the interior of cylindrical members 1 and 8 and forming a taper part 35 for suppressing movement of waste paper extruded to the lower direction below the extrusion screw, a short edge part 15 is formed so that the length in the radial direction becomes successively small from the upper end vicinity of extrusion screw toward the upper end.
