PURPOSE: To obtain moistureproof paper capable of being macerated as old paper, excellent in moistureproofness, not causing a problem of slipperiness at all. CONSTITUTION: In this moistureproof paper obtained by forming a moistureproof composition layer comprising a pigment and a synthetic resin latex at least on one side of a paper substrate, the pigment is a flat pigment having >=5 aspect ratio and 5μto 50×average particle diameter to give the objective moistureproof paper. The water vapor permeability of the synthetic resin used requires <=500g/m<2> .24hr.
