<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more exactly recognize the interval between the tail end position of a preceding material and the tip position of the succeeding material by prohibiting the joining motion of a joining device and stopping the transportation of the succeeding material when the interval is compared with the ceiling value of the predetermined allowable range and out of the allowable range. SOLUTION: In transportation control steps 163, 166, the interval Pd detected in an interval detecting step 162 is compared with the ceiling value Pdmax of the predetermined allowable range and, when the interval Pd is out of the allowable range, the joining motion of the joining device is prohibited and the transportation of the succeeding material is stopped by output 166 of joining stopping command. That is, when the interval Pd between the tail end of the preceding material and the tip of the succeeding material is out of the allowable range, the correction of the interval is uncorrectable before the interval reaches the joining device, so the joining motion between the preceding material and the succeeding material becomes incomplete. Then, even when the joining between the preceding material and the succeeding material fails and operation is interrupted, additional work which is executed until the next operation is restarted is made minimum.</p> |
