PURPOSE: To produce a high-grade polyester fiber for reinforcing a rubber, hardly deteriorating the bonding in a state thereof embedded in the rubber at high temperatures for a long period, capable of suppressing the deterioration in fatigue in a state embedded in the rubber under repetitive stretch and compression and excellent in productivity, adhesion to the rubber and cord strength and provide a method for producing the polyester fiber. CONSTITUTION: This polyester fiber for reinforcing rubber is obtained by treating polyester fiber with an adhesive composition containing a terpolymer rubber latex comprising 40-60wt.% conjugated diene-based monomer, 13-20wt.% vinylpyridine-based monomer and 25-45wt.% styrene-based monomer. The terpolymer latex preferably has 110-250nm weight-average particle diameter of the rubber particles and 100-140 Mooney viscosity. |
