PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively, efficiently and industrially advantageously obtain highly purified 1-hexene by using a catalyst composed of a chromium salt, an inorganic oxide solid, a metallic amide, an alumoxane and an electron donor. SOLUTION: (A) A solid component obtained by suspending (i) a chromium salt (preferably a chromium halide) and (ii) an inorganic oxide solid in an ether solvent and treating with (iii) a metallic amide, (B) an alumoxane and (C) an electron donor compound are used as a catalyst. Preferably, a solid catalyst obtained by using the component obtained by treating the component A with the component B and the component C, or further, a solid catalyst obtained by treating the component with the component C are used to obtain the objective trimer. Furthermore, preferably the component (iii) is a bis(trialkyl)amide salt or a bis(trialkylsilyl)amide salt, the component B is a polyalkylalumoxane and the component C is a compound having more than two ether bonds existing through more than one atom and expressed by the formula, etc., or a cyclic ether (e.g.; tetrahydrofuran). |
