PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cycle characteristic of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. SOLUTION: Lithium cobalt oxide with the layered structure is used for the main positive electrode active material, and graphite carbon at 3.38Å or less of layer-to-layer distance (d002) is used for the main negative electrode active material. At the time of assembling a battery (before the first charge) or when the battery is in the discharging condition, The electrode holding ability (a) of the positive electrode active material and the electrode holding ability (b) of the negative electrode active material are set so as to satisfy the relation 0.9<=a/b<=1.3. Since the electrolyte is appropriately distributed for holding in the positive electrode and the negative electrode, even in the case where charge and discharge is repeated in the high temperature condition, generation of a large capacity of deviation is prevented. |
