PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which can operate stably for a long period of time by improving the intra-plane concentration distribution of a reaction gas flowing through unit cells, and making uniform the intra-plane distribution of current density. SOLUTION: Each unit cell 1 is structured so that a matrix 2 of an electrolyte layer is pinched by a fuel electrode 3 consisting of a laminate of a fuel electrode catalyst layer 5 and fuel electrode base material 6 and an oxidator electrode 4 consisting of an oxidator electrode catalyst player 7 and oxidator base material 8, and a plurality of such unit cells 1 are stacked to form a intended fuel cell where a electrolyte reserver plate 9 and separator plate 10 are arranged. A surface of the fuel electrode base material 6 confronting the fuel electrode catalyst layer 5 is provided with a plurality of gas flow grooves formed by ribs 61A and mutual communications are generated by providing a communication groove 63. |
