MISREGISTRATION CORRECTING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately correct misregistration even when a position deviation in the width direction due to the zigzag of a web and the change in web width due to the change in water content rate. SOLUTION: In a method for correcting misregistration when performing overlapping printing to a web W to be continuously carried by at least two printing units 2, register marks M1 and M2 printed at both side edge parts of the web W are detected by detectors 9A and 9B by a printing unit 2 and an upstream first printing unit 1 at the center in the width direction of the web W at the input side for the second printing unit 2. Then, a misregistration is calculated from the amount of deviation of both register marks in the width direction obtained for each side edge part from the detection result and the center in the width direction of a plate copper 4 of the printing unit 2 is controlled to match the center in the width direction of the web W.
