PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image copying machine which ensures reading accuracy, prevents label damage, soil, and the like, and, further, prevents fraudulent alteration of the label by a third person, etc., even in an image reader whose focus depth is relatively short, by bringing the label with copying-machine individual identification information recorded on it into close contact with the same table as an original document-placing table. SOLUTION: The image copying machine places a document onto the upper surface of a light-transimissive flat bed 2 with the document upper side facing down, optically scans the side to obtain image data, and processes the image data to output a regenerative signal, and also it is equipped with an individual- identification-information-data adding function for adding individual identification data to a copy by disposing a label 22, on which the individual identification information has been pre-recorded, onto the flat bed 2 and by optically scanning the surface of the label 22 to obtain the individual identification information data. The image copying device is provided with label support means 20, 23, and 24 which usually hold the label 22 on the upper surface of the flat bed 2 so that it adheres to it, and which hold it apart from the upper surface of the flat bed 2 when the flat bed 2 is replaced or attached. |
