[Also in Divisions F2 and H1] A flexible welding cable comprises a tube 11 of trifluorochloroethylene or other synthetic material having a smooth bore through which welding rod 12 is fed, conductors 13 surrounding the tube and carrying the welding current, and an insulating sheath 14 made of synthetic rubber. The tube may be reinforced with glass fibres or metallic wire or mesh. The conductors may be of copper or aluminium and be enclosed in steel braiding 15 which is impregnated with the insulating material. |
