PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the vaccine based on a recombined vector obtained by inserting an avian immune source into an avian helpes virus, also effective for Bumboro disease having been difficult in prevention and capable of protecting fowls from death and fabricius infectious bursal diseases. SOLUTION: This live recombinant avian vaccine comprises, as a vector, an avian herpes virus comprising at least one nucleotide sequence coding for and expressing an antigenic polypeptide of an avian pathogenic agent, and inserted into the region lying between the ATG of ORF-UL55 and the junction of UL with the adjacent repeat region, under the control of the CMV immediate early promoter. The vector is preferably Marek's disease virus, especially herpes virus of ducks, and the insertion region is preferably one of the intergenetic regions 1, 2 and 3, or ORF UL55 of the BamHI fragment I. The CMV-immediate early promoter is e.g. the human promoter MCMV-IE. The nucleotide sequence is preferably a nucleotide sequence coding for the polypeptide VP2 of the Gumboro disease. |
