PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of easily maintaining the thickness of a toner layer formed on the surface of a developing roller in a fixed range by executing the prescribed chamfering of the edge of a blade of a rigid member constituting a developer regulating means. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a developing housing 12, the developing roller 16 which is disposed in the developing housing 12, holds a developer on the surface in a developer holding area 30 and carries the held developer to a developing area 34, to develop an electrostatic latent image and the regulating means 22 provided with the blade 46 consisting of the rigid member acting on the surface of the developing roller 16 in a developer regulating area 32 located between the developer holding area 30 and the developing area 34, to regulate the quantity of the developer held on the surface of the developing roller 16. The blade 46 consisting of the rigid member is projected to the upstream side, when viewing in the moving direction of the developing roller 16 and the edge on the side of the developing roller of the projected blade 46 has the chamfering of C 0.1-0.6mm. |
