PURPOSE: To prevent the charging current to the smoothing capacitor of an inverter device and the resonance current of its inverter from canceling each other. CONSTITUTION: Switching elements Q1 , Q2 are connected in series with each other, and this series circuit is connected in parallel with a smoothing capacitor C0 . The one switching element Q1 is connected in series with an inductor L1 , and the output ends of a rectification circuit RE are connected by this series circuit. The energy stored in the inductor L1 when the switching element Q1 is in ON-state charges the smoothing capacitor C0 via a diode D8 when the switching element Q1 is in OFF-state. The switching elements Q1 , Q2 are turned on or off alternately to feed an AC power to a load with a discharge lamp DL. Further, a diode D9 is disposed in an inserting way between the switching elements Q1 , Q,2 m and thereby, the charging current to the smoothing capacitor C0 is prevented from being passed through the route including a diode D2 connected in parallel with the switching element Q2 . |
