PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound image localizing device using a 2-channel speaker and a headphone so as to localize a sound image in all directions. SOLUTION: An audio signal is given to an A/D converter 2, from which a digital signal is given to a signal processing means 13. When an input means 10 is used to input a listener position, a reproduction speaker position and a sound image position, a parameter control means 11 selects a parameter in response to the inputs from a memory and the selected data are given to the signal processing means 13 as filter coefficients. The signal processing means 13 uses a transfer function to localize a sound image at a specific position for the signal processing. The signal processing means 13 is provided with an imaginary sound image localization means, a frequency characteristic control means and a gain controller or the like to localize the sound image so that sounds are heard from sides, rear sides, upper and lower directions of the listener. |
