PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing excessive supply of toner, and eliminating the need of arranging a cleaning unit or the like around an image carrier. SOLUTION: The toner 32 is applied from a developing roller 33 of the developing device 23, to a surface of a photosensitive drum 21 where an electrostatic latent image is formed by photoirradiation 30. Thickness of the toner 32 stuck there, is limited bellow two layers by a counter blade 26. The developing roller 33 is driven by rotary driving means 37 so that its linear velocity Vd in the rotary direction 33a becomes larger than the liner velocity Vp corresponding to the rotary direction 21a of the photosensitive drum 21, and the product of the toner thickness and the ratio (Vd/Vp) becomes 2 to 3. Thus, a surface of the photosensitive drum 21 is prevented from the excessive supply of the toner 32, and allowed to return as it is, in a state being uniformly charged by a electrification unit 22, after transferred to a recording paper sheet 24. |
