PURPOSE: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device which has a simple circuit constitution, can reduce performance deterioration of a switching element and reduce switching loss. CONSTITUTION: A device comprises an electrodeless discharge lamp La, high frequency power supplying coil 1 of supplying high frequency power to the electrodeless discharge lamp La by carrying a high frequency current and a high frequency generating circuit 2 including switching element Q1 , Q2 also to convert an output of a DC power supply E into AC high frequency power supplied to the high frequency power supplying coil 1. The switching element Q1 performs self excitation by the secondary voltage generated in a secondary winding n2 of a transformer T3, and the switching element Q2 performs separate excitation through a generator 18 and a power amplifier 16 from a control signal e1 . In this way, the electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device, which can prevent deteriorating of the switching element and can reduce a switching loss with a simple circuit constitution is obtained. |
