摘要 |
The production of laser beam by chemical means is claimed. It involves: (a) heating of a fluoride cpd. to produce atomised fluoride gas; (b) circulating the gas through nozzles (7) to attain a supersonic speed; (c) mixing of hydrogen to the supersonic gas to form vibrationally excited HF molecules with population inversion; (d) circulating the mixture through a resonant optical cavity placed transversely w.r.t. to gas circulation to obtain the laser beam. The device for producing a laser beam by chemical means is also claimed. It consists of (a) a vessel (1); (b) an inlet port for fluoride cpd.; (c) heating system to produce atomised fluoride gas; (d) nozzles (7) to collect gas from vessel; (e) means to pass gas through nozzles (7) to attain a supersonic speed; (f) ways to introduce hydrogen into the out-coming gas from nozzles (7) to form vibrationally excited HF molecules with population inversion; (g) and a resonant optical cavity (9) (10) at the outlet of the nozzles (7) placed transversely w.r.t. to the flowing gas to collect the gas and yield the laser beam.
