PURPOSE: To improve the irradiation efficiency of a liquid crystal display panel, to eliminate the futile consumption of current and to prolong the life of an EL sheet by preventing the exit light of the EL sheet from being scattered in the unnecessary directions through the liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION: A prism lens sheet 3 to be bonded to the light emission surface of the EL sheet 2 is provided between the EL sheet 2 and liquid crystal display panel 1. The prism lens sheet 3 is constituted so as to direct the exit light of the EL sheet 2 to one prescribed direction (arrow A direction). The prism lens sheet 2 directs the exit light of EL sheet 1 to the arrow A direction, and the displayed characters, etc., of the liquid crystal display panel 1 can be visually recognized by using the EL sheet 2 as a back light from the direction opposite thereto. A semilight-transmissive film 3b is constituted so as to reflect ultraviolet rays, etc., which are entering through the liquid crystal panel 1 when it is light such as daytime and not to be an obstacle to the back light function of the EL sheet 2 through the exit light of the EL sheet 2 when the EL sheet 2 is emitting the light. |
