PURPOSE: To effectively utilize a display area without waste when list data is displayed and outputted by adopting such an output equipment that selects an optimum number of steps of minimizing a blank area according to the display area of the output equipment, and extending data on a memory by the number of steps to display the data. CONSTITUTION: At first, the maximum display memory width Wm1 of an output device to be displayed is obtained, next, the whole width Wt1 of list data is determined and the number n1 of display steps of a file is determined by n1= Wm1/Wt1. By this number n1 of display steps, list data is constructed on a graphic RAM 13a and is developed. Lastly, by giving an instruction of the effect that this list data is transmitted to the output device to an output data flow controller 30 from a CPU 10, the list data developed on the graphic RAM 13a is displayed on the output devices such as a display 32 and a printer 31a. |
