PURPOSE: To provide a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion function which is efficiently capable of performing the input of a character under a certain condition. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a designated range information storage part 14 storing the information showing the range to be the object of a priority changing processing changing priority for plural conversion candidates obtained by a KANA/ KANJI conversion, an attribute information storage part 16 storing the information showing the object for which priority should be changed, corresponding to the range shown by the stored information, a condition judgment part 12 judging the object stored in the attribute information storage part 16 corresponding to a pertinent range when the range to be the object of the input of a KANA is contained in the range shown by the information stored in the designated range information storage part 14, a priority changing part 18 setting priority information showing that the priority is changed for the judged object and a KANA/KANJI conversion part 22 changing priority for the plural conversion candidates obtained by performing the KANA/KANJI conversion for the input of the KANA in accordance with priority information. |
