PURPOSE: To prevent a careless mistake, that is, one-side copying caused by forgetting to specify both-side copying by actuating a reverse lever, so as to feed an original to a carrying belt for rear copying, when a both-side copying button is depressed. CONSTITUTION: An optical scanner 4 scans the rear of the original and detects the fact that a character and a pattern exist or not, to inform a first control part 8. In a copying part 6, the front side of the original is copied at a position 13 and then, the first control part, 8 stops the ejecting of the original and lights a rear-side lamp for warning that the rear side is copied or not in a display part 9, when the rear is expected to copy and the one-side copying is specified, from the results of the detection. When the both-side copying button 12 is depressed, a second control part, 10 lays the lever 7 fallen to a both-side copying side and carries the original at the position 13 to a position 15 and then, to a position 16 by a paper carrying roller 3, so that the original is turned over by the paper carrying roller 3 and returned to the copying part 6 at the position 13, to copy the rear. |
