PURPOSE: To make the dimension in the lateral direction of the whole surface of a jack with a switch small by arranging a switching part comprising a moving contact piece and a fixing contact piece corresponding to a conductive part of a plug on one side of a plug inserting hole. CONSTITUTION: A switching part comprising moving contact pieces 11, 12 and fixing contact pieces 13, 14 corresponding to conductive parts 21, 22 divided into two of a plug 2 are arranged on the one side of a plug inserting hole of a jack 1. By the plug 2 inserted into the inserting hold, the moving contact pieces 11, 12 corresponding to the conductive parts 21, 22 are operated to bring the contact parts into contact with the fixed contact parts 13, 14 to make them conductive. In order to stabilize the contact on one side of the plug 2, increase in thickness in the insertion direction of an opening part 15 of the insertion hole of the jack 1 is preferable.
