PURPOSE: To make it possible to know a part of speech for a word at a glance by discriminating a part of speech in each word based upon a retrieving result of a dictionary retrieving means, differently setting up the color information of a word and a translated word in each part of speech, sorting output picture data in each color based upon the color information, and forming a color picture on recording paper. CONSTITUTION: Characters are read out from picture data read out by a scanner and a word is recognized by an OCR processing part 201. A translated word and a part of speech corresponding to the recognized word are retrieved by a dictionary retrieving part 202, output picture data are generated based upon the retrieved result, a part of speech is discriminated in each word, and the color information of a word and a translated word is changed and set up in each part of speech. The output picture data are sorted in each color by a plotting part 203 based upon the set color information and the sorted data are inputted from the plotting part 203 to a printer to form a color picture on recording paper. Consequently a part of speech in each word can be judged at a glance. |
