PURPOSE: To provide a navigation device capable of displaying a clock, etc., which are overlapped on a map displayed on a display part, on a position which does not disturb recognition of the display. CONSTITUTION: A position detection part l detects a position of own vehicle by utilising GPS. A map data storage part 2 is constituted of CD-ROM, etc., from which a map data is read based on positional information of own vehicle by an instruction from a data processing part 3. The data processing part 3 calculates the present position of own vehicle corresponding to the map data, and detects a wide range of a monochrome area such as sea, mountains, etc., in the map data displayed on a display part 5, and judges a state of a picture such as sea, mountains, etc., displayed by the picture data stored in a V-RAM 4. On the display part 5, the picture data written in the V-RAM 4, the present position of own vehicle, and clock are displayed. A counter 6 is a clock counter for displaying a time. |
