PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a hologram capable of suppressing a ghost hologram by the surface reflected light forming at the boundary with the outdoor air. CONSTITUTION: Both sides of a photosensitive plate 81 are held by a first prism 25 having a vertax angleψand a second prism 26 having a vertex angleψand the photosensitive plate 81 is irradiated with reference light 31 from the side of the first prism 25 and object light 32 from the side of the second prism 26. The reference light 31 and the object light 32 are P polarized light. The relation between the vertex angleψand an incident angleθof the reference light 31 is so determined that the angle (a) formed by the normal reference light 311 which is made incident on the first prism 25 and heads toward the photosensitive plate 81 and the surface reflected light 312 is made perpendicular. An antireflection film 14 (orλ/4 wavelength plate) is formed on the front surface on the atmospheric side of the first prism 25.
