CONTROL LINE MULTIPLEXING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To transmits the ATM cell of a main signal system and a packet for control through a common ATM transmission line. CONSTITUTION: An ATM cell assembling part 7 generates an ATM cell for control from the packet for control which is received by an interface part 4. An ATM cell multiplexing part 8 multiplexes the ATM cell received by an interface part 5 and the ATM cell for control. Thus, the ATM cell for control is transmitted from an interface part 6 to an ATM transmission line 3. An ATM cell separation part 9 separates the ATM cell received by the interface part 6 into the ATM cell of a main signal system and the ATM cell for control. A packet regeneration part 10 for control regenerate a packet for control from the ATM cell for control. Thus, the packet for control is transmitted from the interface part 4 to a non-ATM transmission line 1.
