PURPOSE: To perform a support so as to easily perform how to search the same translated word as that of a paper dictionary within a limited display screen and to reduce the omission of translated information contained in the explanation of an example of the actual use of a word/usage wording by displaying the display contents of dictionary information by working the contents to a line by a meaning of the word unit. CONSTITUTION: When a caption word is instructed and inputted by an input means 102, the dictionary information corresponding to the caption word is retrieved from a storage means 101 by a dictionary retrieval means 103, reference data of the meaning of a word and the example of the actual use of the word are combined for every instructed caption word and the data is displayed on a display means 104. The display contents of dictionary information is worked so that only the translated word of the caption word may be displayed on a line by the meaning of the word unit by a display contents working means 105 and a display means 4 104 is switched to this worked display by a display change means 106. Therefore, because only a proper translated word or the translated word and other information can be confirmed one line by one line without looking at unnecessary dictionary information when the translated word is retrieved, the search of a desired translated word becomes easy. |
