PURPOSE: To lower the friction coefft of the inner peripheral surface side surface of a carrying member for directly or indirectly carrying a visible image and to lessen the load acting thereon by forming many pieces of very small ruggedness on at least the inner peripheral surface side surface. CONSTITUTION: This image forming device is constituted by reforming the inner peripheral surface side surface of a dielectric resin film 11 which is a recording material carrying sheet. Namely, the recording material carrying sheet is constituted by providing its inner peripheral surface side surface with the many very small rugged parts. The coefft. of friction of the recording material carrying sheet formed with such many very small rugged shape may be lowered to a value of <=2/3. The method for forming the sheet surface shape is executed by, for example, winding the recording material carrying sheet around a cylindrical drum and pressing or parting sandpaper of about #2000 to and from the drum while rotating the drum at a prescribed rotating speed and rotating the drum 10 to 20 turns by repeating this operation.
