<p>PURPOSE: To conduct welding of an electrode plate group shelf portion stably by moving the lug portions of electrode plates, which are positioned at right and left ends in a loading direction among the electrode plates constituting an electrode plate group of a lead-acid battery welding, inward in the loading direction so as to weld the same. CONSTITUTION: In a lead-acid battery in which a shelf portion 1 is burner-welded to the lug portions of electrode plates 2 having the same polarity so as to assemble an electrode plate group, the lug portions of electrode plates 3, 3, which are positioned at right and left ends in a loading direction of the electrode plates 2, are moved inward in the loading direction so as to weld the same. It is desirable that the bias measurement of the lug portion is 1.5mm or more and the moved lug portions are covered by the lead of the shelf portion 1 by 1.5mm or more. Thereby, the welding performance of end plates 3, 3' is improved, and the break of the end plates 3, 3' resulting from corrosion, vibration, and the like is avoided so as to prevent the burst of the battery.</p> |
