摘要 PURPOSE: To form an electrostatic latent image developing carrier of a binder type dispersed with magnetic powder in a binder resin in such a manner that the electrostatic charge with toners is rapidly executed and that image formation is stably executed without the degradation in the flow property of a developer even in the case where this carrier is used with toners of small grain size. CONSTITUTION: The first carriers having saturation magnetization of 35 to 50emu/g and residual magnetization of <=10emu/g and having smoothing treated surfaces and an average grain size of 80 to 150μm and the second carriers having saturation magnetization of 55 to 80emu/g and an average grain size of 15 to 50μm are used as the electrostatic latent image developing carrier of a binder type prepd. by dispersing the magnetic powder into the binder resin. The first carriers 2 are passed through the spacing between a cylindrical vessel 1 rotating at a high speed and pulverized chips 3 of the radius of curvature smaller than the radius of curvature of this vessel 1 at the time of smoothing the surfaces of the first carriers 2.
