PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing recording material from rushing in a cleaning means and faulty cleaning from being caused by the rush-in. CONSTITUTION: This image forming device is provided with a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 1, a corona electrifier (electrifying means) 2, a laser exposure optical system (exposure means) 3, developing devices (developing means) 4Y, 4C, 4M and 4BK, a recording material carrying sheet (recording material carrier) 5f, a transfer device (transfer means) 5, a cleaning device (cleaning means) 6 and a transfer peeling sensor (detection means) 5h. In the device, the presence or absence of the recording material P on the drum 1 is detected in timing different from the detection timing of the sensor 5h by using a pre- cleaning sensor 6d. Since the presence or absence of the recording material P on the drum 1 is detected in timing different from the detection timing of the sensor 5h by using the sensor 6d in such constitution, the recording material P is prevented from rushing in the cleaning device 6 and the faulty cleaning is prevented from being caused by the rush-in. |
