<p>PURPOSE: To enable an exact pointing operation by finding the moving amount of pen corresponding to acceleration information even when the pen is moved while separating the tip from a supporting plane. CONSTITUTION: When force from the outside is applied by a stick 2 which exposes one end from an opening 1a of a main body 1, the interval between a movable electrode 3 arranged while being confronted through a ring and a fixed electrode plate 5 fixed inside the main body 1 is a little changed. The capacitance generated between the movable electrode plate 4 and the fixed electrode plate 5 is measured/calculated at a sensor processor 6 so that the direction and level of power applied to the tip of pen can be calculated. Among calculated power components in respective X, Y and Z axial directions, Vx and Vy are converted into the moving amounts of mouse in X and Y directions and a force component Vz in the Z axial direction is compared with a previously set threshold value and converted into the operation of mouse button. These moving amounts and operation of button are outputted through an LED 10 for communication.</p> |
