PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new converter circuit device including GTOs which is operated by using snubber elements as small as possible and whose occupation space and cost are reduced. SOLUTION: A branch of a converter circuit device which comprises first and second gate turn-off thyristors GTO1, GTO2 with respective inverse-parallel connection diodes D1, D2 is shown in the Fig. The positive and negative terminals of a DC power supply which are represented by the terminals of a capacitor Czk of an intermediate circuit are connected by this branch. A voltage-buildup limiting means is only one capacitor C1 or C2 every branch. This C1 or C2 is connected in parallel with one of the inverse-parallel connection diodes D1, D2 which is also connected in parallel with the corresponding GTO thereto. This capacitor C1 or C2 is assigned to either GTO1 or GTO2. |
