PURPOSE: To reduce the packing space by disposing a packing, having a part making an angle with respect to the horizontal plane, at the abutting face of a cover covering the opening of a case with one side thereof as a fulcrum thereby ensuring the packing effect. CONSTITUTION: In the drip-proof structure for the case 1 of portable radio where a packing 4 is disposed in the peripheral groove 2a around the opening 2 of battery containing part and the opening 2 is closed by a battery cover 3, the abutting face 4a of packing 4 is inclined by an angleθagainst the horizontal plane. The angleθis selected such that the abutting face 4a is substantially normal to the tangent vector of locus when a rib 3a of battery cover 3 closes the opening 2. Since the packing 4 is not torn up when the rib 3a of battery cover 3 abuts against the abutting face 4a of packing 4, drip-proof effect is protected against deterioration.
